It ain't Pretty

You're a kid, waiting for something to hit you in the head, and offer you a clue on what you're supposed to do, it ain't cool to be a virgin when you're sixteen. You lied but she knew anyway, it's not for nothing that they say, don't rain upon your own parade. Don't stain your sunny day
When you're twenty years old, your story's still untold, but your conscience is in disarray, always had to smile away. You thrived, telling unnecessary lies. They used to laugh at all your average jokes, share with you their average coke, all the days became the same, blowhards and their dull refrain, all day you waste away
It's the truth when you're thirty, always had to wake up early, fall out of bed turn on the light, put your boots on find a shirt, curse yourself then off to work all day, you pine away, when you probably should have been afraid. Don't sleep while you're awake
When you're forty years old, your future seems foretold. You're cruising uninspired there's no passion in your fire. You're tired, yet you start to realize that someday you will expire. Did you wallow in the mire? Did you appreciate the days when your life was really great? Don't rain on your parade.
It's not cute being pretty when you're fifty. A long time ago you could get away with it. When you're fifty years old, your bark is not as bold, you're starting to look old. Tomorrow arrived yesterday but I'm ok with my today. I rarely tried to do any harm, and I seldom failed to see what was right from wrong.
